_during our show we held a series of events inspired by the work of the great Milanese designer and theorist
_friday 7 june _aperitivo opening + interactive activity based on Living, a game created by Enzo Mari and Paolo Gallerani in 1976
Players selected cards at random from a deck created by LOMI_ based on the principles of the original game. These cards provided the characteristics of an imaginary character players were encouraged to reflect on and in some way document on a communal piece of paper, pencils provided
_sat 8 june _workshop for kids and/or adults to explore the concept of construction
Taking inspiration from Enzo Mari’s Autoprogettazione project, for which he developed a range of furniture that can easily be assembled by people with no woodworking skills, we used commonly available materials (paper, card, tape, wood off-cuts) to make miniature furniture or animal forms, to explore playing in 3D and to engage with the basic principles of construction
_sun 9 june _creative activity for kids and adults
Exploring play through Enzo Mari’s designs; we had examples of his puzzles to engage with, and gave the opportunity to play The Fable Game, a graphic story game that is reconstructed anew with every rendition
We provided empty cards, pencils and colouring pens to facilitate the creation of new story boards, a new collective version of The Fable Game
As part of our June 2024 show we presented the DJF project
DJF are fabricators and artisans who offer the opportunity to participate in the construction, in their Milano workshop, of pieces of furniture following the principals and designs of the ‘autoprogettazione’ series by Enzo Mari and a similar concept proposed by Gerrit Rietveld
During our June event DJF constructed a Rietveld crate chair with help from our guests
